5 Benefits of Photorejuvenation

photorejuvenation

To reverse signs of aging on your face there are a number of treatments available, but usually, these treatments will interfere with your daily activities. However, there is one method that doesn’t require any downtime. It’s called photorejuvenation. This treatment is a type of facial that uses intense pulses of light (IPL) to go into the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen growth. Here are five benefits of photo rejuvenation:

Reduces the appearance of age spots and sunspots.

Dark spots on the skin are caused by the sun’s ultraviolet rays. To protect itself against the sun the skin produces extra melanin. Over time, this melanin gets concentrated in certain areas, forming spots. Photorejuvenation, using intense pulses of light, will break down the melanin and the body will absorb the fractured melanin, causing the spots to disappear.

Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and lines

As we age the skin begins to lose collagen, which causes wrinkles and lines to form. Photorejuvenation works by stimulating the skin to produce more collagen to give you some extra volume and smooth out those lines.

Effective in reducing the symptoms

People suffering from rosacea, including broken blood vessels on the face neck and chest, and signs of redness on the skin can experience relief with this treatment.

Minimally invasive and is done in our office.

Depending on the size of the treatment area the process may take longer. This will be discussed during your consultation with one of our specialists. Since this is a non-surgical alternative, your downtime is also minimized, allowing you to return to your daily schedule shortly after your treatment.

Personalized treatment

Many people need multiple treatments, with one month between each treatment depending on their aesthetic goals. While each person’s skin reacts differently, there may be improvement seen after each treatment. The number of treatments needed will be determined when you come visit one of our specialists. Over time, you will see the gradual clearing of the skin.

You may be wondering how long the effects of the treatments will last once they are completed. This will depend on the amount of sun exposure after the treatment. If you are in the sun a lot without sunscreen, the spots and redness will return. If you protect your skin from the sun and have annual maintenance treatments, your skin may look rejuvenated for years to come.

If you are looking to reverse the signs of aging on your face, photorejuvenation may be for you. Contact us today at Adoro Medical Spa to schedule your consultation.
