Laser skin resurfacing reduces or eliminates wrinkles, excess skin, bulges under the lower eyelids and scars, including acne scars, by removing the top layer of skin and gently tightening the underlying dermis without an incision. The healing process induces regeneration of new collagen and elastic tissue, actually bringing some of the youthful layers of your skin to the surface, giving you tighter skin and fewer wrinkles. Laser skin resurfacing can also eliminate sun damage spots and freckles.
Our Annapolis cosmetic surgeons have specifically chosen fractional and full CO2 laser technology for skin resurfacing for our Severna Park medical spa.

The precision of these lasers allow only the targeted skin to be treated, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. They can also be used as a cutting tool, facilitating eyelid surgery and removal of certain skin lesions with significantly less bruising and swelling than traditional surgery.
CO2 Laser Resurfacing – What to Expect
Traditional CO2 laser resurfacing removes the top layer of skin leaving a bare surface, which heals in one week. Once the new skin has healed, the resurfaced area is pink. This pinkish tone fades away slowly over the next six to twelve weeks. Makeup may be worn after two weeks. In fractional CO2 laser resurfacing, only a portion of the skin’s surface is resurfaced-cutting the healing time in half.
At Adoro Medical Spa, we treat your skin conservatively and with extreme care. This ensures that any potential risks are significantly minimized. Most patients experience considerable improvement and no complications. Some patients may have some residual wrinkles or creases that can be further improved through medical-grade skincare, dermal fillers, or with a second treatment six months to a year after the initial treatment.
