As we age, the delicate skin around the eyes can become puffy and wrinkled, causing the eyes to appear tired. Eyelid surgery can have dramatic rejuvenating effects simply by removing the excess skin and trimming or repositioning the fat around the eyes, restoring a more youthful look. Patients of all ages can benefit from eyelid surgery. Blepharoplasty surgery may be combined with laser resurfacing, forehead lift and many non-invasive treatments to produce optimal results.

Blepharoplasty – What to Expect
Eyelid lift surgery is ordinarily performed using Co2 laser under sedation. Occasionally, patients will need to be placed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. Our doctor’s method for eyelid rejuvenation allows for the patient to be released to rest at home later the same day.
After the eyelid surgery, there may be some bruising and swelling, which should resolve within the first week. Minimal restrictions are placed regarding exercise, bending and heavy lifting for one week to prevent bleeding, infection or more swelling than necessary. Sutures are removed 9 or 10 days after the eyelid lift surgery, once the wounds are completely healed. Final results can be evident within 4-6 weeks when the last of the swelling resolves.
