Dermal Fillers

Restylane®, Perlane® and Juvéderm® are all safe, natural dermal fillers used to correct unwanted lines, folds and wrinkles by adding fullness and volume into the skin.  You should consider dermal fillers if you are concerned with lines that are visible when your facial muscles are at rest.  These fillers are made of non-animal-derived hyaluronic acid (HA).  HA is the substance in your skin that holds collagen in place, making it exceptionally safe and well tolerated.  Areas of the face that appear to benefit most from dermal fillers include: the lips, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, laugh lines, tear troughs and any other skin crease visible at rest.

Hyaluronic acid fillers have replaced collagen as the fillers of choice because they are much safer and the results last at least twice to three times longer.  Unlike collagen, there is no risk of disease transmission and a very low risk of allergic reaction, so skin testing is not necessary.  The safety of these dermal fillers allows you to seek an enhancement at any time, without worry.

What to Expect:
Dermal fillers provide an immediate, visible volume enhancement and correction of unwanted folds and wrinkles.  The effects last six to thirteen months or even longer in some cases.  Dr. Pacheco’s careful, meticulous approach ensures a more exact, natural final result.  If additional filler is needed after the initial treatment, Dr. Pacheco may schedule you for a second session, one to two weeks later.  Dr. Pacheco makes sure that only the necessary number of syringes is used, minimizing the cost to you.

You may experience minimal redness, bruising, lumpiness to the touch or unevenness following the treatment.  If any of these side effects occur, they will subside within a few hours or days, depending on the findings.  In rare cases, the filler may have to be dissolved.

Cosmetic fillers may be used in conjunction with Botulinum injections, Thermage and Laser treatments to obtain optimal smoothness.
