The Surgical Brow Lift

A surgical brow lift will elevate the eyebrows, tighten the forehead, and permanently smooth frown lines. There are three types of surgical brow lifts: the endoscopic brow lift, the temporal lift, and the open brow lift. For patients that require surgery, an endoscopic brow lift is recommended.

With an endoscopic lift, the surgeon will make small incisions along the scalp. The surgeon will then insert tiny anchors that will secure and tighten the forehead and eyebrows. This is a fairly non-evasive procedure, with a shortened recovery time. There is some risk of swelling or bruising, which is usually the case with any surgery. These side effects should subside within the first 2 weeks. Serious complications rarely occur.

The Non-Surgical Brow Lift

A non-surgical brow lift can be performed on patients that require a less dramatic lift. It can be done using ThermaCool™ by Thermage®. This technique requires no surgery, and is completely non-evasive. This is an in-office procedure that produces a subtle, but immediate result.

It works by introducing radio frequencies that will produce heat below the skin’s surface. This causes the skin to contract, ridding of wrinkles and resulting in firmer, younger skin. The result will only improve over the next six months, with very little, or no side effects.

The Madelic Peel is not a harsh peel and takes longer to penetrate the skin’s surface which in turn makes it much less irritating.

What can I expect when using this peel?

Upon application, within the first minute-or-so, you will feel very little topical sensation, perhaps none.  Then, the skin may have a “warming” sensation, or slight tingling.  Remember, that this peel will penetrate more slowly, thus the topical sensation will take a bit longer.

Some clients will see actual peeling of the skin.  Others will just notice the excellent exfoliation benefits and a brighter, more glowing skin tone.

IPL Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure. Using high intensity light energy, imperfections on the skin can be reversed, leaving those who have the treatment with beautiful skin that looks refreshed and free of flaws. With this procedure, fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage can be reversed to allow skin to look beautiful and healthy again. One way to counteract the effects of aging of the eyes and forehead is a minor surgery to raise the brow. If you don’t want to undergo any kind of surgery, another option is the ThermaCool procedure created by the Thermage company. This non-surgical brow lift is intended for people whose eyelids, under eye area, eyebrows and forehead show less obvious signs of aging.

Surgical Brow Lift Procedure

When you undergo a surgical eyelift, the plastic surgeon lifts the eyebrows further away from the eyes with a surgical tool. Your frown lines and wrinkles in your forehead tend to disappear as a result. Non-Surgical Brow Lift Procedure

Because the procedure affects the layer of skin below the epidermis, results are not fully developed until two to six months after the last of the series of laser resurfacing treatments. It takes time for the skin to fully heal and regenerate. This treatment uses the skin’s natural ability to renew itself, enhancing the normal process by stimulating the production of elastin and collagen in the dermis. Although visible signs of change are noticed immediately, with softer, more even toned skin, full effects take longer.

After the treatment the skin may appear sunburned, with minor redness and swelling for a few days. The new skin begins forming almost immediately. As the fresh skin develops, the old layer of skin flakes away. Moisturizing the skin can keep the appearance of the flaking at a minimum. A bronze tone may also develop in the first two weeks after treatments but fades with continued healing.
